happy holidays!

just wanted to take a moment on this eve of Christmas to add one of my favorite prints in my house. i got it from supon creative. this has to be my favorite doxie-related product i have ever seen.

fyi--this product comes rolled; i got mine stretched at a frame shop, but can't remember how much it was.

three cheers for electricity.

i must say that after having no electricity for days due to a windstorm around here has really reminded me how cool having electrically powered light really is. as an ode to good lighting design, here is my shortlist of my long-time lighting favorites.

1. arco floor lamp. this light has always reminded me of something tony montana would have had in his living room situated next to his white grand piano, black lacquer end table and velvet painting of a white tiger; yet i still love it.
2. poulsen artichoke lamp. i will stick with my trusty norm 69 (designed in '69 and arrives flat packed in 69 pieces) until i can part with $9,000 for one of these poulsen gems.
3. cellula chandelier. this is just a great use of crystal, while still keeping the lines clean. i usually find most crystal lighting to be too wayne newton.

so there it is--my ode to some mighty fine lighting design. lastly, three cheers to the electrical linemen and women who restored my power. you rock.

modern shed gives "pre-fab" a whole new meaning--FABulous! okay, that was just really corny. i am not going to backspace right now since had i said that in a live conversation, i wouldn't be able to undue the stupidity, so this should be no different.

anyhow, isn't this shed just great? granted it is about $15K , well-equipped, i love that it is like an instant office, workroom, etc. it apparently requires little assembly and offers options like a patio deck, french doors, custom color, etc.

they also offer a shed that is just a shed. i can't see the reason to drop several $Ks on a storage shed, but to each his own.
